Story:
At Guardia's Millennial Fair in Leene Square, our young hero Crono has a chance encounter with a girl named Marle. Joining forces, they embark on an adventure that leads them to the Telepod exhibition by Crono's friend Lucca. When Marle volunteers for a demonstration, an unexpected malfunction sends her into a rift in time. Unfazed, Crono bravely follows by grasping Marle's pendant. He finds himself in a world centuries earlier, where he discovers a quest to save the future of the planet awaits him.

- Active Time Battle Version 2 - Engage in battles where time continues to flow, and choose your actions strategically based on the changing positions of enemies.
- 'Tech' moves and combos - Unleash special 'Tech' moves during battles, including abilities, magic, and unique combo attacks that can be executed by two or three characters. With over 50 different types of combos available, the possibilities are endless.
- Experience the 'Dimensional Vortex' and the 'Lost Sanctum' dungeons - Explore the ever-changing and mysterious Dimensional Vortex outside of space and time, and unlock long-forgotten chambers in prehistoric and medieval times in the Lost Sanctum.
- Graphics and sound - The graphics have been updated in higher resolution while retaining the original atmosphere. The music, supervised by composer Yasunori Mitsuda, has also been enhanced to provide a more immersive gameplay experience.
- Autosave - Along with traditional save points, your progress is automatically saved as you traverse the map, ensuring that your adventures are never lost.
